Group Shift Notes by Plant and Creator

Use

This procedure describes the settings you must make in Customizing to be able to group the shift notes in the shift report according to the criteria plant and creator .

Procedure

Create Grouping Criteria

  1. To create the grouping criteria, choose the function key Define Group .

    The Change Shift Note Group view appears.

  2. Choose New Entries .

    The New Entries: Details of Added Entries view appears.

  3. Enter the following data:

    • Note Group:

      In this field, you enter a name for your grouping criterion (such as PLANT ).

    • Label: PLANT

      The Plant label serves to identify the shift note group in the input help for the Grouping Level field.

    • Field Name: PLANT

    • Layout:

      Here you can enter your own layout. If you do not specify a layout, the system uses the one you specified in the case of the List of Shift Notes .

  4. Save your entries.

  5. Now create the grouping criterion CREATOR . In doing so, enter ERNAM as the field name and save this shift note group.

Create Group Definition

If a certain enterer (person who entered the shift note) is to come at the beginning of the list of shift notes in the shift report, you must additionally enter a group definition for the shift note group CREATOR. To ensure that the shift notes of Mr. Example are displayed as the first group in the shift report, you must make the following settings:

  1. Select the shift note group CREATOR and double-click on the group definition.

    The Group Definition screen appears.

  2. Choose New Entries .

    The New Entries for CREATOR screen appears.

  3. Enter the following data:

    • Sequence : 10

    • Heading: Mr. Example

    • Field Content : EXAMPLE (user name)

  4. Define a separate layout for Mr. Example's section, in which the event date is displayed in addition to the message number and the long text.

  5. Save your entries.

Define Grouping Levels

  1. In the Grouping Level 1 field, choose the shift note group Plant .

  2. In the Grouping Level 2 field, choose the shift note group Creator .

Result

In the above example, you obtain the following list in the shift report:

The shift notes of the other users appear below the table containing all the shift notes of Mr. Example. The system outputs a table containing the columns Message / User / Long Text for this purpose.
