Transferring Old Model Data

Use

Due to the new implementation of the generic object relationship services ( ORS) for Release 5.0, there have been changes to the model data. To support the migration of applications to the new object relationship services ( ORS), a tool which simplifies the following activities has been developed:

• Definition of mappings between new and old model roles,

• Automatic generation of new model roles from old model roles,

• Definition of mappings between new and old model relationships,

• Semi-automatic generation of new model roles from old model relationships,

• Consistency checks.

Activities

1. Start transaction SOBL_MODEL.

2. Choose the Migration of Old Model Data symbol.

3. As soon as a mapping or a generation is performed and saved in the MDTT, the changes are transferred to the view cluster and can be seen there. You can make additional changes to the data records in the view cluster. When the view cluster is saved, all the migrated model data is also saved.
