Transfer of Dip Reading Data

Use

The transfer of dip readings from business locations to the SAP Oil & Gas System allows you to use that data to update and correct stock level data. For more information, see Dip Reading Management .

Features

Interface

To transfer dip readings to the Oil & Gas System, you use:

  • IDoc OILBLD_SAVEMULTIPLE01

  • Message type OILBLD_SAVEMULTIPLE

IDocs of message type OILBLD_SAVEMULTIPLE contain the segment E1BPBULOCD03.Dip reading data is stored in this segment.

Processing in the Oil & Gas System after Receipt of Dip reading Data

The incoming IDoc OILBLD_SAVEMULTIPLE01 calls the function module BAPI_BLD_SAVEMULTIPLE. This function carries out the following actions:

  • For all ISO-encoded fields the corresponding SAP codes (for example, for units of measure) are determined, if SAP codes are not specified directly.

  • A business add-in is called. This can be used for value conversions in the Oil & Gas System.

  • Customizing of the Process Control tool determines exactly which functions are carried out. For the default process FS01:

  • The dip reading history tables are updated

  • The status for the process FS01, the current date and the received locations is updated

  • The dip reading history and dip reading error tables are updated.

The database change is carried out within one logical unit of work (LUW). This means that an IDoc is only processed if all lines are processed successfully. However, only fundamental set-up errors (for example, materials not allocated to a location) lead to a rejection of the entire IDoc.

Errors determined by validation routines lead to an update of the rejected dip readings table, from where the readings can be processed again after correction. The IDoc itself is not rejected in such cases.

  • If all processing has been successfully carried out and the corresponding documents have been posted, the status of the IDoc is set to 53.
