Business Location TypeThe business location type is the primary means of categorization of business locations. You therefore have to select a type when you create a business location master record. The business location type typically describes the:
Function (for example, depot or service station) of the business location
Nature of the relationship (for example, company-owned, dealer-operated service station or dealer-owned, dealer-operated service station) of the business location to your own organization.
You use this categorization to control which processing parameters apply to the business location, and the screen output for maintenance and display of master data.
After creating a business location and assigning a business location type:
You can create, maintain and display general (that is, not specific to a business type) master data
You can create a business type view of the location to enable business-specific screen output and data maintenance. For more information, see Retail Network Business Type
Processing defined for the assigned business location type is enabled for the business location.
