Using Several Conditions in a Single View

If you have set a condition to Active in the definition, the status Active appears next to the description of the condition. If several conditions are defined for a query, it can result in conflicts between conditions that refer to the same characteristics. In this case, certain rules of priority apply. Generally, the most specific condition applies when there are conflicts.

If a condition cannot be used in a query, the following status descriptions can appear in the display:

  • cannot be applied

The condition refers to, for example:

a characteristic that has not been drilled down

a characteristic combination and the two characteristics are not drilled down next to each other on an axis

a characteristic combination and an involved characteristic are not drilled down

a characteristic combination and the axis has a hierarchical display, whereas the condition is a ranked list

a characteristic that is drilled down with an active presentation hierarchy, whereas the condition is a ranked list (seeHow Conditions Interact with Hierarchies)

  • not used

The condition refers to a characteristic that is already being used in another active condition. There is a collision. Only when you deactivate the other condition does this condition come into effect. The status appears as Active in the display.
