Selecting Hierarchies
Use
You select hierarchies at the following stages in the query definition:
- When selecting a variable hierarchy or a fixed hierarchy for a hierarchy node (seeRestricting Characteristics: Hierarchies).
- When selecting a display hierarchy for a characteristic (seeProperties of the Characteristic.
Prerequisites
You can only use this function if hierarchies have been created for the characteristic that you want to restrict.

Procedure
You are in the Select Hierarchy dialog box. You have the following options:
Select Fixed Hierarchies
- Under Hierarchy Name, choose a fixed hierarchy.
- Choose OK.
Select Variable Hierarchies
A hierarchy is variable if at least one of its elements (name, version, key date) is variable.
- Select Hierarchy Variables.
- Choose
. The input help for selecting the variable hierarchy appears. - Select the required hierarchy and choose OK.
- Make the required settings for the version and key date.
- Choose OK.
