BEx Patterns

Use

BEx patterns are Web applications that are tailored to the requirements of particular user groups and that are used to provide a uniform display of content from BI. For the user, this means that the same function is always located in the same place with the same name.

The patterns can be configured to a certain extent using the Pattern Wizard of the Web Application Designer . The concept of patterns helps reduce the total cost of ownership because the actual logic to display and interact with BEx applications is stored centrally for each pattern in one Web template. If changes need to be made, they only need to made to this central Web template.
