Perform User Synchronization Using IPS

Using Identity Provisioning Service (IPS) for user synchronization enables reliable and automated transfer of user data from SAP Fieldglass to SAP Identity Authentication Service (IAS). IPS acts as middleware that ensures users are accurately created and updated in IAS through controlled synchronization jobs, supporting both full and incremental syncs while providing monitoring and validation capabilities to ensure data consistency and successful identity lifecycle management.

Context

Follow these steps to syncs users from SAP Fieldglass (source system) to IAS (target system).

To do this, ensure:
  • IPS tenant is set up and connected to IAS.

  • Source and target systems configured correctly.

  • API/OAuth credentials are valid.

  • Transformation attributes are updated post-upgrade.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Identity Provisioning Administration console.
  2. Choose the SAP Fieldglass source system.
  3. Navigate to Start of the navigation pathJobs Management Next navigation step  JobsEnd of the navigation path.
  4. Run sync:
    1. Choose Run Now.
    2. Choose Full Sync for all users or Incremental Sync for new/modified users.
  5. In IAS Admin Console, go to Users and confirm all SAP Fieldglass users appear correctly.
