Configuring EHP Upgrade of Advanced Adapter Engine Extended

Use

Perform the following steps to configure an upgrade of the Advanced Adapter Engine Extended (AEX) from SAP NetWeaver 7.3 to enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.3 (EHP upgrade).

Prerequisites

You have downloaded the software package for the AEX for enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.3 from SAP Service Marketplace and have installed the software.

Procedure

To configure the upgrade, run the automatic, CTC wizard-based configuration.

To do that, go to SAP NetWeaver Administrator and choose Start of the navigation pathConfiguration Next navigation step Scenarios Next navigation step Configuration WizardEnd of the navigation path.

Choose the CTC wizard PI Advanced Adapter Engine Extended EHP Upgrade .

When prompted by the wizard, provide the required entries

The wizard performs the required configuration steps automatically:

  1. Check AEX Service Users: The relevant service users are checked. During this step, the system reads the user names and passwords of all PI service users defined in the service properties of J2EE Services com.sap.aii.utilxi.cfg.svc and checks if users and passwords are correct and not logged.

  2. Configure Alerting (if Alerting is active): If Alerting is active set the property alerting.target to 1 (Component-Based Message Alerting is used).

  3. The ESR content for the enhancement package (software component version SAP BASIS 7.31 ) is imported.

  4. Update the SLD: In case you use a local SLD (System Landscape Directory), the SLD content for the enhancement package is imported.

  5. The new technical system is assigned to the system description of the Advanced Adapter Engine in the SLD.
