Fields

You can view ECAD images using the information panel and 2D/3D Editor toolbar in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer.

For ECAD models, the information panel comprises the following:

  • Elements (see Elements)

  • Schematic sheets (see Schematic Sheets)

  • Layers

For ECAD models, layers are used to group ECAD objects by model element type and by physical layering of the PCB. For example, there will typically be separate layers for the components on the top of the board and the components on the bottom of the board. The layers list is also used to control which layers are displayed. Flipping the board automatically adjusts which layers are displayed.

The following table describes fields shown in the 2D/3D editor toolbar for ECAD files:

Field

Description

ECAD Settings

Opens the ECAD Settings dialogue where you can do the following:

  • Define the color of the World View outline

  • Enable the selection of a component by clicking anywhere inside a component boundary line, including the component boundary line itself

If this setting is disabled, then the component may only be selected by clicking on the component objects themselves, for example component boundary line, pads or label.

Page Layout

Visualizes how images in the SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer user interface will appear on a printed page

Zoom Window

Provides a best fit of the image in the SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer user interface, or zooms a selected section of the scene

Rotate 90° Clockwise

Rotates the vieweport image 90° clockwise

Rotate 90° Counter Clockwise

Rotates the vieweport image 90° counter clockwise

Flip Board

Alternates between viewing the ECAD model from the top or from the bottom

World View

Displays a rectangle representing the current viewport view superimposed on a small image of the entire ECAD model at the bottom of the information panel

Full Screen

Alternates between a full screen and a window-sized display
