Navigating with Visual Assembly Navigation
Use
Navigating down a hierarchy is simple and explodes along general axes. If the model has many subassemblies to explode, all subassemblies are visible in the viewport.
The types of breadcrumbs that display in the assembly path vary and the type displayed depends on the type of navigation selected. The available types are as follows:
| Type | Functional Description |
|---|---|
| VAN Assembled | The first breadcrumb in the assembly path is the same as the VAN root. |
| VAN Disassembled | The first breadcrumb in the assembly path is in a disassembled state with no animation. |
| VAN Animated Disassemble | The first breadcrumb in the assembly path is in a disassembled state with animation. |
Activities
Navigating the Current View
In the 2D/3D Editor toolbar, choose Visual Assembly Navigation. Then carry out one of the following:
- Double-click an empty viewport space to navigate one level up an assembly.
- Double-click an assembly to navigate one level into the assembly.
- Click a breadcrumb to navigate one level up to the previous breadcrumb
Showing the Model as Disassembled During Navigation
In the 2D/3D Editor toolbar, choose Visual Assembly Navigation. Choose the VAN Disassembled dropdown arrow and carry out of the following:
- Double-click an assembly to navigate one level into the assembly.
- Double-click an empty viewport space to navigate one level back up an assembly.
- Click a breadcrumb to navigate one level up back to breadcrumb.
Animating a Navigation
In the Visual Assembly Navigation mode, choose the VAN Animated dropdown arrow and carry out of the following:
- Double-click an assembly to navigate one level into the assembly.
- Double-click an empty viewport space to navigate one level back up an assembly.
- Click a breadcrumb to navigate one level up back to breadcrumb.
Reassembling the Model
In the Visual Assembly Navigation mode, choose the VAN Assembled dropdown arrow. Then click Assembled View from the navigation path at the top of the viewport.
Exiting Visual Assembly Navigation Mode
In the 2D/3D Editor toolbar, choose Visual Assembly Navigation.
