Distributing Changes from the Central System to Domain Systems

All configuration requests and changes to existing configurations that you create in the central system must be transported to all domain systems. This process is done centrally by the change processor. The technical administrator of a central system can release the change processor at any time. All existing configuration changes are then released to the managed systems.

Context

If you only want to release configurations of integration scenarios, you do not have to use the change processor. You can release the configuration of an integration scenario separately.

The change processor runs in the following four phases:

  1. In the central system, all modifications or new configuration requests are identified and transferred to the managed systems.

  2. In the managed systems, new provider configurations are created.

  3. In the managed systems, new consumer configurations are created, obselete ones are deleted.

  4. In the managed systems, obsolete provider configurations are deleted.

The managed systems report the successful completion of each phase to the central system. When a phase is completed in all managed systems, the next phase is started. The status of configurations is then stored in the central system.

Procedure

  1. In central SOA Manager (transaction code SOAMANAGER) on the Service Administration tab, choose Change Processor.

A list of all available domains systems and the status of the last release of the change processor is displayed. For each system, you can see in which of the four phases mentioned above the change processor is carrying out an operation.

  2. To distribute all current configurations to the domain systems, release the change processor.
  3. To see the current status of the change processor, choose Refresh.

Results

The change processor runs through all four phases and distributes all configuration requests to the systems and informs you about its progress in this table. You can also check whether a system from the list is available or even start SOA Manager remotely in the domain systems.
