Simulating Indexing Using a Configuration of the User-Defined Search

Context

You can simulate a configuration in order to apply it to a specific message. With simulation, the current configuration is used to index the message payload at runtime. This is performed using the direct extraction method, except that it is not stored in the database. After simulation, the search names and values are displayed.

Procedure

  1. In SOA Manager (transaction SOAMANAGER), go to the Monitoring tab and choose User-Defined Search.
  2. Search for a configuration and open it by choosing the Display icon.

    You can only simulate a configuration in Display mode.

  3. Choose Simulate.
  4. Search for a message for which you want to simulate the configuration.

    You can use a time range or a message ID for the search.

  5. Select a message from the table and choose Simulate.

Results

The simulation result consists of the search names and values of the parameters that are indexed.
