Customize Layout Window

Use

The Customize Layout window is used to customize menu commands, toolbars, ScreenTips, and shortcut keys. Note that many options within this window relate to identical Windows functionality and as such, are not described here.

Edit Toolbars

Selects additional menu commands to display on toolbars

  • Categories: Menu commands are grouped into categories

  • Menu/Tool: Lists the menu commands associated with a category. You can drag a menu/tool from this list, onto an existing toolbar.

  • Keyboard Shortcut: Assigns a keyboard shortcut to menu commands

Options

Controls the default display of toolbar buttons and menu commands

  • Menus and Toolbars: Controls the display of menus and toolbars

    • Display Full Menus: Displays full menus

    • Show Full Menus After a Short Delay: Displays full menus after a short delay

    • Reset Menu and Toolbar Usage Data: Restores the toolbar buttons and menu commands

  • Other: Controls other display settings
    • Show ScreenTips on Toolbars: Displays tooltips when a toolbar button is highlighted by the mouse.

    • Show Shortcut Keys in ScreenTips: Displays shortcut key information in the screentip.

    • Move Layout Manager to the Left: Moves the Layout Manager next to the menu bar. The Layout Manager displays by default at the top right of the screen.

  • Color Scheme: Selects a Windows color scheme for your display
