Customize Layout Window

Use

The Customize Layout window is used to customize menu commands, toolbars, ScreenTips, and shortcut keys. Note that many options within this window relate to identical Windows functionality and as such, are not described here.

Layouts	Controls the default layout to display
Panels	Controls the default display of the controls Note These settings, when saved, remain current until they are changed, unless the field By File is set to automatic. In this case, the panels will automatically reappear when the file is reloaded. Show/Hide: Controls whether panels display automatically, or require manual intervention to display. The check box indicates whether the panels currently display, and the By File and By Tab fields allow further panel options. By File: Defines panel behavior. If set to manual, appearance of the panel depends on the user setting. If set to Automatic, SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author decides when it is appropriate to display the panel. Reset: Restores the default display of the controls
Toolbars	Controls the default display of the menu commands on toolbars Note These settings, when saved, remain current until they are changed, unless the field By File is set to automatic. In this case, the toolbars automatically reappear when the file is reloaded. Show/Hide: Controls whether toolbars display automatically, or require manual intervention. Plug-in: Lists the plug-in associated with a toolbar, if applicable
Edit Toolbars	Selects additional menu commands to display on toolbars Categories: Menu commands are grouped into categories Menu/Tool: Lists the menu commands associated with a category. You can drag a menu/tool from this list, onto an existing toolbar. Keyboard Shortcut: Assigns a keyboard shortcut to menu commands
Options	Controls the default display of toolbar buttons and menu commands Menus and Toolbars: Controls the display of menus and toolbars Display Full Menus: Displays full menus Show Full Menus After a Short Delay: Displays full menus after a short delay Reset Menu and Toolbar Usage Data: Restores the toolbar buttons and menu commands Note This button affects the buttons shown on toolbars that are not wide enough to display all the buttons. It affects the menu commands shown on the short version of menus only if the Display Full Menus checkbox is not selected. This button does not change the location of toolbars, remove any buttons or commands added using the Customize Layout window, or add buttons or commands that you have deleted. Other: Controls other display settings Show ScreenTips on Toolbars: Displays tooltips when a toolbar button is highlighted by the mouse. Show Shortcut Keys in ScreenTips: Displays shortcut key information in the screentip. Move Layout Manager to the Left: Moves the Layout Manager next to the menu bar. The Layout Manager displays by default at the top right of the screen. Color Scheme: Selects a Windows color scheme for your display
