Making Detail Views
Use
Detail views allow you to create additional 3D viewports in a scene. Multiple views can be opened in a scene. Each detail view has full camera manipulation, and contains a specific view of the model.
Features
There are two ways in which you can create a detail view.
Detail View
The Detail View option allows you to zoom in to a specific region in your model, to view an object in more detail. This feature operates in a similar way to the callout feature, in that you highlight the area that you would like to see in a more detailed view, then drag the leaderline to an area of the scene where the detail view will be displayed. The area of the detail view can be resized and repositioned by hovering the cursor over the view.
The detail view window can be customized in four ways:
-
Position, with the crossed arrows.
-
Width, with the horizontal arrow.
-
Height, with the vertical arrow.
-
Width and Height combined, with the diagonal arrow.
When Detail Views are closed, a magnifying glass indicates the closed detail view in the scene.
Cutaway
The Cutaway option allows you to make a detail view of a specific region in your model. This feature “cuts away” that portion of the model to reveal the objects underneath, while still viewing the rest of the model.
The cutaway is re-sizable, and the view rotates to match the current camera main view in the current viewport.
