Transformation Tab Page
Use
The Transformation tab displays the selected 3D objects geometry and transformation information including the transform values (position, rotation, scale, and shear) of the selected objects along the axes. These are displayed encoded in a matrix and are relative to the world coordinate system by default.
An object’s “extents” are its maximum dimensions in X, Y, and Z. These are the dimensions of the rectangular bounding box that surrounds the object in local object coordinate system.
You can edit the selected object’s name. If you select multiple objects and edit the name, the names of all selected objects are changed.
Features
The following table displays the different elements and the descriptions:
|
Element |
Functional Description |
|---|---|
|
Relative to Parent Coordinate System |
The position, rotation, scale, shear, and transform matrix values relative to the parent coordinate system. |
|
Position |
Sets the position of the object along the X, Y, and Z axes. The values are relative to the parent coordinate system if it is a child object and the Relative to Parent Coordinate System check box is selected. |
|
Rotation |
Sets the object’s rotation about the X, Y, and Z axes. The values are relative to the parent coordinate system if it is a child object and the Relative to Parent Coordinate System check box is selected. |
|
Scale |
Sets the object’s scale along the X, Y, and Z axes. The values are relative to the parent coordinate system if it is a child object and the Relative to Parent Coordinate System check box is selected. |
|
Shear |
Sets the object’s shear along the X, Y, and Z axes relative. The values are relative to the parent coordinate system if it is a child object and the Relative to Parent Coordinate System check box is selected. |
|
Roll |
The angle of roll for the selected camera. |
|
Billboard |
Adjusts a node’s transformation dynamically, based upon the camera position. Billboarding has the following modes:
|
|
Transformation Matrix |
The transform values of the selected object. The values are relative to the parent coordinate system if it is a child object, and the Relative to Parent Coordinate System check box is selected. |
|
Dimensions |
The object’s dimensions along the X, Y, and Z axes |
