Parts Panel

Use

The Parts panel presents, and is used to control, all the objects that are associated with the current 3D file. You can export the Bill of Materials (BOM list) and modify the callout and BOM source settings.

The Parts panel displays all duplicated objects and the number of times that they are used in the scene. However, it displays only the objects that are part of the selected BOM source.

  • Actions Menu

    The menu is used to perform further actions on parts:

    Elements

    Functional Description

    Metadata Columns

    Adds selected metadata to the BOM.

    Add Selected Nodes

    When accessed from the Callouts panel, this option will automatically create callouts for selected parts that are specified in the Parts List. Callouts will not be created for parts that are not in the Parts list.

    Remove Selected Nodes

    Removes selected nodes from the list. Removing nodes from the list also removes associated callouts.

    Import Part List

    Used to import a part list

    Update Part List

    Used to refresh the part list after updates have been made to the scene

  • Export Window

    The window is used to select the following types of metadata that you want to display, and the order in which they will display in the Callouts and Parts lists:

    Functional Description

    Number of Nodes in Part

    Adds the number of nodes (count) in a part

    Expand Node

    Shows all the individual nodes for each part

    Transformation Matrix

    Selectable only if Expand Nodes has been selected. Shows all the Rotate and Translate coordinates for each node in the parts list.
