Layers Panel Right-Click Menu

Use

The Layers panel menu contains a number of commands used to control the layers and the objects within the layers. Available options differ depending on the current layer or object selection and grouping.

Features

The right-click options for Layers are the following:

Menu Option

Functional Description

Add Selected Objects

Adds the selected objects to the layer

Remove All Objects

Removes all objects from the layer

Remove Empty Layers

Removes any empty layers from the scene.

Selectable

Makes the layer selectable

Properties

Opens the Layer Properties window, and allows you to modify the selected layer's properties

Tools

Performs a number of functions, including moving pivot points and removing duplicated elements

Rename

Renames the selected layer

Select All

Selects all objects in the scene

Select None

Selects no objects in the scene

Select Sub-Objects

Selects all sub-objects of the selected object

Invert Selection

Inverts the current selection

Hide All Objects

Hides all objects in the scene

Hide Selection

Hides the selected object

Hide Unselected

Hides all objects that are not selected

Duplicate

Duplicates the selected layer and all the objects within the layer

Cut

Cuts the object or objects from the layer

Copy

Copies the object or objects from the layer

Modifier

Selects a modifier to associate with the part

Delete Objects

Deletes all selected objects

Remove from Layer

Removes the part from the layer

Object Properties

Opens the Object Properties window, and allows you to modify the selected objects' properties

  • Right-click the layer

  • Right-click the Layers panel with no selection

  • Right-click the layer in the Scene panel

  • Right-click the Layers section in the Scene panel with no selection
