File List Menus

Folder menu

Appears when you right-click over a folder in the File list. This menu is identical to the right-click Folders panel menus.

File menu

Appears when you right-click over a file in the File list. Many of these options are also common to the Folders panel menus.

File list

Appears when you right-click over the blank space in the File list. It includes various commands that relate specifically to File list. For example, sorting the File list and generating thumbnails.

Open

Opens the selected file in the viewport

Open in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author with

Opens the selected file with the plug-in of your choice. For example, you could open a 3dm file with either the Apple Quicktime 3D Metafile plug-in or the Rhinoceros plug-in.

Import With

Opens the selected file with the application of your choice. For example, 3ds Max, Photoshop, PowerPoint, or Maya.

Sort File List

Arranges files and folders in the File list

Refresh File List

Refreshes the viewport display

Generate Thumbnails

Creates or updates thumbnails in the thumbnails cache, for all files in the current folder.

Select all Files

Selects all folders and files contained within the current folder

Batch Operations

Options to convert, or render and convert all files in the selected folder.

Describe

Opens the Edit Description window, and allows you to enter a description for the selected folder or file.

Import Options

Options to modify and apply import properties, if any, to the format type. These options differ, depending on the selected format, and many are common to multiple formats. If when importing files, there’s more than one plug-in with which you can import a file, you can choose the plug-in with which you wish to import the file.

Add To Favorites

Adds the selected file to the Favorites list.
