Bake Transformations

Use

This tool fixes vertices in place by removing any transformations that may be on an object, and fixing the vertices into that transformed position. It works both on the whole scene and on a selection.

If a node has a descendant node of any type, other than a mesh, it does not perform a fixing of the node. If a node is selected, the plug-in fixes its descendants as well, however, if a mesh is instanced it becomes unshared. The fixing operation is irreversible except for the unsharing of instanced ‘points’ and ‘normals’ in the arrays of the mesh.

Activities

Select the required objects and do one of the following:

  • Choose Start of the navigation pathActions Next navigation step 3D ActionsEnd of the navigation path from the menu bar, and then click Bake Transformation.

  • Right-click in the 3D viewport and select Start of the navigation pathTools Next navigation step Bake TransformationEnd of the navigation path.
