Object Actions

You can use the object action options to perform general actions on objects. You can select one or many object actions, from the following options. Descriptions of each option are detailed in the table below:

Action

Condition

Description

Select Objects

Objects are selected

Unselect Objects

Objects are deselected

Show Objects

All objects are made visible

Hide Objects

All objects are hidden or invisible

Suppress Objects

Objects are suppressed. If a node is suppressed, none of its children exist in the scene. They are loaded on demand from VDS when this node is resumed later. None of the children of a suppressed node are processed with any filters, but filters still run for the node itself. This is done so that it is possible to find such suppressed nodes with a query and resume them. Children of a suppressed node are not displayed in the scene BOM either. But the suppressed node is displayed as grey in BOM. This action effectively takes objects and their children out of consideration for view and query.

Resume Objects

Suppressed objects are released. This action reverses their suppression, and the objects are once again candidates for filters in queries.

Suppress Procedures

If a procedure is suppressed, the procedure and its associated steps will not display in the Steps window or the scene BOM.

Filters can process suppressed procedures so that it is possible to find such procedures with a query, and resume them.

The Suppress Procedures action cannot be applied to individual steps.

Delete Procedures

Deletes the selected procedure

The Delete Procedures action cannot be applied to individual steps.

Resume Procedures

The suppression applied to procedures is removed, and the procedures and their associated steps are once again available in the Steps window and the scene BOM.

Flag

Sets or clears Marked flags on objects, so that there are a number of marks that can be tested with filters. The idea of marking an object is like selecting it, but silently. The mark on that object is maintained, so that you can test for it later. The marks are not saved with the file, and are active only during the current session. This action is used in conjunction with the following:

Set

Sets flags for objects

Clear

Clears flags for objects

Marked

Marked3
