2D Actions Menu

Use

The 2D Actions menu is used to control a number of image settings, including modifying the image size and rotating the image.

Features

The following options are available from the menu:

Menu Option

Functional Description

Alpha Channel

Opens the Alpha Channel window, and is used to manipulate the alpha and RGB channels

Color Management

Opens the Color Profile Management window, and is used to control the display of color in 2D image formats. Note that Color Management is only available for TIFF and JPEG files.

Flip Horizontal

Flips the image horizontally

Flip Vertical

Flips the image vertically

Grayscale

Applies grayscale to the image

Image Size

Opens the Image Size window, and is used to modify the size of the image.

  • Width: Determines the width of the image.

  • Height: Determines the height of the image.

  • Preserve Aspect Ratio: Preserves the image’s width-to-height ratio. An image with an aspect ratio greater than 1, is called a Landscape image. An image with an aspect ratio less than 1, is called a ‘portrait’ image. When the aspect ratio is exactly 1, the image is square.

Invert Image

Converts the color values to grayscale

Normal Map

Opens the Enter Bump Scale Level window, and is used to apply a new surface vector (normal) to each pixel of the surface (polygon). This can be used to create a geometrically non-existent but real looking bumpy surface on a smooth polygon.

Rotate 180

Rotates the image 180 degrees

Rotate 270

Rotates the image 270 degrees

Rotate 90

Rotates the image 90 degrees
