Volume Select Tool

Use

You can use the Volume Select tool to create selections based upon rectangular or spherical envelopes. A transparent primitive is used to act as the guiding volume space in which objects will be selected.

Activities

Selecting volume for a selected object

1. Open a 3D file and do one of the following.

   • Choose Volume Select Tool on the 3D Editor toolbar

   • Using the Tool Assistant, choose Volume Select.

2. Establish your volume selection settings in the Tool Assistant.

3. Perform one of the following.

   • Choose Create Layer to display the new layer containing the selection information in the Layers panel

   • Choose Add to Scene to display the markup in the Scene Tree
