Remap/Combine Textures Window

Use

You can use the Remap/Combine Textures window to take the mapping in one UV map and map it onto another. The settings in the window determine how textures are remapped, whether textures are to be combined, and how they are combined.

Functional Description

Map

The name of the map

Material

The name of the material that uses this map

Type

The type of map. For example, diffuse, bump, or an ambient occlusion map.

Tiled/Scaled

Indicates whether the map is tiled or scaled.

Object

The name of the object on which this map appears

UV Channel

The number of the UV channel to which this model is applying this material

Remap Texture

The type of remapping to apply to the selected texture maps

  • Map: The name of the selected map. If it is the same, tiled textures can be untiled.

  • From UV Channel: The UV channel to which the texture map currently applies

  • To UV Channel: The UV channel to which you want to map

  • Select Channel: Selects the allocated channel

  • Remap: Applies the remap texture settings. Any changes made to the settings are saved.

Combine Textures

The texture maps to combine, and the way in which they will be combined

  • From texture: The source texture map for combining

  • To texture: The destination texture map with the properties to combine

  • Blend mode: The type of combination required

  • Overlay: The ‘from’ texture is overlaid onto the ‘to’ texture using the transparency channel of the ‘from’ texture

  • Multiply: Multiply the two pixel values together

  • Add: Add the two pixel values together.

  • Average: Calculate the average of the two pixel values

  • Tile mode: Used to determine how the texture is to be fitted to its new size. For example, tiled.

  • None: Do not tile. That is, keep the aspect ratio and ignore where this does not work. This option is ideal if both textures are the same size.

  • Stretch: Stretch to fit.

  • Tile: Tile the texture to fit.

  • Combine: Applies the combine textures settings. Any changes made to the settings are saved.
