Searching for an Original and Opening in SAP Visual Enterprise Author

Context

You can search for an original in SAP and open it in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author using the SAP ECTR window.

Procedure

  1. Choose Load an Original from SAP PLM and Open It from the ECTR toolbar.
  2. Specify your search criteria in the Document window, and choose OK.
  3. When the results display in the Document Selection window, select the required document, and choose OK.

Results

When the document opens, the way in which it opens is dependent on the type of document.

  • .rh based Documents open in Edit mode

  • Non .rh based Documents open in Display mode
