Illustration Line Editor
Use
The Illustration Line Editing tools provide the ability to clean up Line illustration display of 3D objects in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author. The Illustration Line editor tool only works in Line Illustration, Solid Outline and Shaded Illustration Display modes.
Illustration lines are divided into segments, and here you have the ability to either work with the entire line, or merely segments of it.
There are three options for illustration line editing. These are the following:

Line Select: Used to select illustration lines in the scene

Line Erase: Used to erase illustration lines in the scene

Line Restore: Displays all erased lines in the scene and allows them to be restored.
Activities
Selecting Illustration Lines
Click
on the Illustration toolbar and do one of the following:

Left-click to select an individual illustration line.

Press CTRL and drag to select multiple lines.

Press SHIFT+CTRL and drag to select line segments. This option selects lines to the nearest line segment.
Hiding Selected Illustration Lines
Select the illustration lines to hide and do one of the following:

Right-click the selected illustration lines, and select Hide Selected Lines.

Press E on your keyboard.
Erasing Illustration Lines

Click
on the Illustration toolbar and do one of the following:-
Press SHIFT+Left-click and drag over to select an individual illustration line to select lines for removal. The cursor displays an arrow with an eraser, and E for entities, and the selected lines are highlighted in red.

Press SHIFT+CTRL and drag over the line segments to select them for removal. This option selects lines to the nearest line segment. The cursor displays an arrow with an eraser and S for segments, and the selected line segments are highlighted in red.

Release the left mouse button to erase the selected lines.
Restoring Selected Illustration Lines

Open a 3D file that contains erased illustration lines, click Restore Illustration Lines on the Illustration toolbar. All lines that have been removed in the scene are highlighted in pink.

Do one of the following:

Right-click in the viewport, and select
to restore all the lines that were previously hidden. -
Press SHIFT+Left-click, and drag over the highlighted erased lines only. The selected lines are highlighted in red. The lines selected by using this method are continuous lines comprising multiple segments. The cursor displays the select arrow with the pencil icon and an E for entities.

Press SHIFT+CTRL+Left-click, and drag over the highlighted erased line segments only. The selected lines are highlighted in red. The cursor displays the select arrow with the pencil icon, and an S for segments.

Release the left mouse button to restore erased lines. These lines will return to the same color as non-erased lines.
