Data Aging Object: Activation Check
The system runs various checks when activating a data aging object.
The system repeats the consistency check that was performed by the SAP application prior to the delivery of the data aging object and two additional checks are started.
- The consistency check contains the following checks:
- Is a runtime class that implements interface IF_DAAG_RUNTIME entered?
- Have you entered the tables that have been enhanced with the _DATAAGING column and that are not buffered?
- Is each table belonging to a data aging object assigned to a partitioning object (the assignment to a partitioning group is optional and in additional to the partitioning object)
- If the data aging object can be enhanced, have you entered at least one enhancement spot?
- Are all enhancements for the data aging object consistent?
- The system performs two additional checks for activation:
- Are all of the data aging objects consistent (see above)?
- Are the cluster tables stored on the database as transparent tables?
- Have you created partitions on the database for all of the tables belonging to a data aging object? (At least one historical partition that covers today's date has to exist. If multiply ones exist, there can be no gaps.)
If the activation is successful, you receive a message that informs you about this.
