Overriding an Assigned DMSWCV

Concept

If you assign a DMSCV to an ESDMA that already has other DMSWCVs assigned, the configuration changes but the version of the ESDMA is not effected. Therefore, the DMSCV assignment for an ESDMA can be changed at any point during the lifetime of an ESDMA. However, note the following aspects while changing the assignment:

  • If you change the DMSCV assignment before rolling out the ESDMA to the devices, there is no impact on the data that is distributed to the devices. This is because the application is rolled out after deciding the distribution logic for the device.

  • If you change the DMSCV assignment after rolling out the ESDMA to the devices, there is no impact on the ESDMA for applications that are rolled out. If you need the new DMSWCV rules to apply to devices that are running, the administrator needs to manually unassign the old DMSWCV and assign the new DMSWCV. However, the system automatically assigns the new DMSWCV to the devices that are rolled out after the change.
