Synchronize Data with SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting

This section explains how you use the synchronization function to align master and configuration data between SAP Group Reporting Data Collection and SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting.

Manual Data Collection Apps

You can use the Synchronize Data with SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting button to synchronize master data and configuration data between SAP Group Reporting Data Collection and SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting from the Manage Forms app.

This button appears only if you have the required role (GRDC_SYNC_DATA). For more information, see Define and Bundle Roles on SAP Business Technology Platform.

This synchronization affects the Manage Forms app, Manage Packages app, and Enter Package Data app. It synchronizes data for all users. To view the updates, refresh your browser.

It affects the following SAP S/4HANA master data and configuration data:

  • Data monitor configuration (task group assigned to version, task configuration)

  • Dimensions

  • Dimension values

  • Dimension attributes

  • Custom fields

  • Custom extensibility

  • Business role restrictions

Data Mapping Apps

Depending on the type of data involved, SAP Group Reporting Data Collection applies different cache duration.

The following data is cached for each user session:

  • Global parameters

  • Consolidation unit list

To synchronize this data with SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting, sign out and then sign back in to the Define Data Mapping or Run Data Mapping apps.
In addition, the following data is cached for two hours:

  • ACDOCA and ACDOCU fields

  • ACDOCA and ACDOCU dimension attributes
