Notifications
Task notifications provide updates on the status and progress of tasks, for example, release tasks or line validation tasks, you (or others) run for a package.
Notifications advise you about the progress of tasks. The first time you open a package, the system subscribes you to the notifications for this package. These notifications are displayed, under the Notification icon, at the beginning of a task and again when the task is complete.
The system displays the following information for each notification:
-
Package, version, year, period, and consolidation unit
-
Time when the task was run
-
Task description such as the line item validation description, or action name, for example, calculate net income or validate line items
-
Status of the task, and whether the task completed successfully, with warnings, or with errors
-
By date
Under date, the most recent tasks are shown first. From here, you can delete notifications individually.
-
By type
Under type, the relevant type for package notifications is Data Entry Package. The most recent tasks are shown first. From here, you can delete notifications individually or you can delete all notifications at once for the Data Entry Package task type.
-
By priority
Under priority, error messages are shown first, followed by warning messages, and then successfully completed task messages. From here, you can delete notifications individually.
Each time you run (or anyone else runs) a task or a task is completed, everyone who has subscribed to the notifications for a package receives a notification. You can choose to turn notifications on or off, at any time, from the settings for the package in the Enter Package Data app.
