Rehire with Old Employment Details

You can now rehire former employees with their old employment information, if the onboarding is done through SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting. Every old employment is available as a profile to choose during the rehire process. The new hire information is sourced from Recruiting, old employment records, and current onboarding process.

As part of this enhancement, we've introduced a new assignment group called Rehire Coordinator to help maintain a separate group for managing rehires. This group can be used for rehiring employees with old or new employment. Admins assigned to the Rehire Coordinator group are those with permissions to complete rehiring and access related information. They review rehire data and decide whether to rehire with old employment, new employment, or as a new hire. When rehire with old employment is chosen, Data Review for Rehire page is shown where the rehire coordinator can review and add data. You can configure the Assigning Responsible Group for Rehire Check business rule to assign rehire verification tasks automatically to the rehire coordinator group. For example, you could have different groups for different countries and assign tasks accordingly.

We've introduced this option to rehire a former employee with old employment details to facilitate customized hiring processes such as seasonal hiring.

Configuration Requirements

  • Enable Allow Rehire with Old Employment Switch on the Onboarding General Settings page.

  • Configure a check using the Hire/Rehire Configuration generic object in Manage Data to see if an employee exists in the system already. For more information, refer to the Related Information section.

  • Create a responsible group for rehire coordinators and configure a business rule to automatically assign them to the respective tasks.

As a rehire coordinator, you must have the following permissions:
