Solution Enhancement for Validation Rules

We enhanced the solution assignment for validation rules in Configuration Workbench of Payroll Control Center. With this enhancement, you can define a reusable generic solution by including parameters and then provide more context to this generic solution at design time when you assign the solution.

A solution is displayed as a hyperlink in My Alerts. When you assign solutions to validation rules in Configuration Workbench, you can create multiple solutions using the same generic solution with different parameter values and solution names. For example, you have a generic solution that points to arbitrary infotypes of an employee in the Employee Central Payroll system. You assign the same generic solution multiple times to a validation rule and specify different parameter values and solution names for each instance. The solution names are displayed as link texts for the solutions.

This feature is developed to reduce the implementation efforts for solutions.

Configuration Requirements

Synchronization Support Package EA-HR SP86 must be installed in your Employee Central Payroll system.

Please note that, while the Employee Central side of this feature is available, you can't use the feature as a whole until the support package mentioned is released. Note also that the full documentation won't be available until then either.

What's Changed

In the current version, you can create generic solutions, for which you can specify the parameter value and solution name at design time when you assign the generic solution to a validation rule in Configuration Workbench.

In the previous version, you couldn’t enter parameter values and solutions names for one generic solution. Each solution is hardcoded with variables whose value are derived at run time.
