Transferring Ownership of an Equipment

As a manufacturer, you perform this procedure to record ownership transfer of the equipment in the network.

Prerequisites

  • The equipment in question is in status Published.

  • The equipment in question should not have In Revision status.

  • The equipment must have model assigned to it.

  • The equipment should not have any location assigned to it.

  • The lifecycle phase of the equipment must be Not Operational or Retired.

  • The equipment must be owned by your (login user’s) organization.

  • The business partner you want to transfer ownership should be in your connections.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Equipment application.
  2. Select the equipment.
  3. Choose Start of the navigation pathManage Next navigation step Transfer OwnershipEnd of the navigation path .
  4. From the Transfer Ownership pop-up window, search the company you want to transfer the equipment to.
  5. Choose Submit.

Results

You will not be able to modify the equipment after you have transferred the ownership. Also, components relating to the equipment will not be transferred.
