Adding, Updating, and Deleting Code Lists

You can create code lists to be used in string, numeric, and date data types.

Context

You can create, update, or delete code lists using the following procedure.

Choose New Code List to create a new code list. Perform the following tasks:

window, enter the values for the fields as described in the table:

Field	Description
ID(*)	Enter an ID for the code list. Note There are no spaces allowed in the ID. You cannot change the ID of the code list once it has been created. You can maintain the ID as blank as well. The code list ID can support blank value.
Description(*)	Enter an appropriate short description that describes the code list. Note You should always have a code description in a code list before assigning the indicator to a piece of equipment. There is no possibility to update the code description later once it is been used for an Indicator. In case the code description is not provided, it will be empty and user will not be able to update it later.
Long Description	Enter an appropriate long description that describes the code list.
Data Type (*)	Select the data type from the list: Date String Numeric Numeric Flexible
Values (*)	Enter the values for the code list using +. Note For a string datatype, you can have one blank value or code.

You can add industry standards by choosing Add Industry Standard under New Code List Industry Standards.
- You can add multiple versions of same industry standard for attribute, attribute groups, templates, code lists, and nested structures.
- You cannot assign different type of industry standards to the same object, for example, if you have assigned eclass 10.1 to an object, then you can only add eclass 12.0 but not any other type of industry standard like mimosa to that object.
Choose OK.
Semantic Reference
You can add a semantic reference to the code list that you own by using Add Semantic Reference. Choose Save. You can further edit the reference using icon or delete it using icon.
Note
- This Semantic Reference is unique for a specific object type. As in same Semantic Reference cannot be used for another code list.
- You can enter maximum of 255 chararcters for reference. Semantic Reference supports simple text, URLs and special characters.
- You can add only one reference. You can delete the existing reference and update a new one.
- For shared code lists, the business partners can only view the semantic reference information but cannot delete or update them.

To edit a code list, select the code list from the Code List Details page. Choose Edit from the code list object page.
You can delete a code list by:
- selecting the code lists from the Code List Details page and choosing Delete.
- choosing Delete form the code list object page.
