Creating an Improvement Request

You create an improvement request when you want suggestions or solutions about a piece of equipment, its process, or maintenance.

Context

Procedure

  1. Open the Improvement Requests application.
  2. To create an internal improvement request, choose Start of the navigation pathNew  Next navigation step InternalEnd of the navigation path.

    The system displays the Improvement Request window.

  3. To define a case, enter the following details in the New Improvement Request dialog box:
    1. Enter a request description
    2. Choose a reference object type (Model, Equipment, Location)
    3. Choose a reference object ID, based on reference object type chosen.
    4. Select an improvement category
      In case the selected improvement category is Master Data Improvement, a new revision has to be created for the reference object.
    5. Choose a priority
    6. Select a reviewer to review your improvement request.
    7. Select a provider who can provide a resolution to your improvement request.
    8. Choose OK.
  4. To add one or more items of equipment, choose EditAffected Equipment and perform the following tasks:
    1. Choose Add
    2. Select one or more items of equipment
    3. Choose Assign
  5. To add additional information to the case, choose Start of the navigation pathRequest Next navigation step DescriptionEnd of the navigation path and provide the necessary description of the case in the Description text box.
  6. To assign instructions to the case, choose Start of the navigation pathRequest Next navigation step InstructionsEnd of the navigation path and perform the following tasks:
    1. Choose the Assign button in the Instructions section.
    2. Select one or more instructions from the Select Instructions popup.
    3. Choose Assign in the popup.
  7. To add additional information to the case using documents, choose Start of the navigation pathRequest Next navigation step DocumentsEnd of the navigation path and perform the following tasks:
    1. Choose Start of the navigation pathAdd Next navigation step AssignEnd of the navigation path.
    2. Select the relevant document.
    3. Choose Assign.
  8. Choose Save.
  9. Choose Send for Review to submit the case to the reviewer.
    • Choose Submit to submit the request directly to the provider.
