Onboarding of Shared Equipment to IoT Landscape

IoT Sync option is now enabled for equipment shared by the owner with write access.

In case of the equipment is shared with multiple business partners, only one of the business partners can initiate the IoT Sync for the equipment. Once the IoT Sync is initiated by one of the business partners, the owner who has shared the equipment as well as other business partners with whom the equipment is shared cannot initiate the sync for the same equipment. On publishing, the equipment is successfully onboarded to IoT landscape.

Further updates on the equipment like addition or removal of indicators, indicator groups, or templates, will be automatically synced to IoT landscape.

Prerequisites

  • You must have set the configurations as described in Automatic Device Onboarding - SAP Internet of Things.

  • You must have at least Write access to the equipment header.

  • The business partner can update the shared equipment only if it is shared with appropriate write access for the dependent objects by the owner.
