Configuring a Data Connection in SAP Analytics Cloud

This topic describes how to configure a data connection in SAP Analytics Cloud.

Prerequisites

You have enabled your custom identity provider from SAP Asset Intelligence Network in SAP Analytics Cloud. For more information, see Enabling a Custom SAML Identity Provider.

Context

To use data from SAP Asset Intelligence Network in your story in SAP Analytics Cloud and in your analytics dashboard, you need to configure a data connection that allows you to import the data using generic OData services.

Procedure

  1. Open SAP Analytics Cloud.
  2. Choose Start of the navigation path (Main Menu) Next navigation step  ConnectionEnd of the navigation path.

    The Connections screen is displayed.

  3. To add a new connection, choose (Add Connection).

    The Select a Datasource dialog box is displayed.

  4. Choose Start of the navigation pathAcquire Data Next navigation step OData ServicesEnd of the navigation path.

    The New OData Services Connection dialog box is displayed.

  5. Fill in the following fields:
    Connection Name Enter a name for the connection.
    Description Enter a description for the connection.
    Connect to an SAP OData service Activate this checkbox.
    Data Service URL Enter the following URL: https://ac.cfapps.eu10.hana.ondemand.com/ain/ac.odata.svc/api/v1
    Authentication Type Select OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials.
    OAuth Client ID Enter the client ID that you received during the subscription to the asset central foundation.
    Secret Enter the client secret that you received during the subscription to the asset central foundation.
    Token URL Enter the following URL with your tenant-subdomain: https://<tenant-subdomain>.authentication.eu10.hana.ondemand.com/oauth/token/
  6. Choose Create.

Results

The data connection is configured.
