Configuring External Systems

You perform this activity as a prerequisite to add external IDs to map object data from an external system; for example, SAP Predictive Asset Insights with your objects in SAP Asset Intelligence Network.

Prerequisites

Your user ID has role CONFIGURATION_DELETE or CONFIGURATION_EDIT assigned.
You have already integrated the external system with SAP Asset Intelligence Network. For details, see Getting Started with Asset Intelligence Network.

Context

You find the following external systems are already configured in SAP Asset Intelligence Network:

SAP ERP

You can maintain multiple ERP systems as external systems by maintaining different destination for each external ERP system.

Note

You can add a maximum of 4 external SAP ERP systems.
SAP Service Cloud
SAP Predictive Asset Insights
SAP Cloud Platform Internet of Things 2.0
SAP Cloud Platform Integration
SAP Commerce Cloud
Other External System

This system type is to be used if you want to configure a non-SAP system.

Procedure

Launch the Application Settings application.
Choose the External Systems tab.
Choose Add.
Choose the relevant external system. For example: SAP ERP.
In the Add System pop-up window, provide the details as listed:

Item	Description
System Name	As provided in the external system
Client	As provided in the external system in case of SAP ERP system
System Status	Active or Inactive
Destination Name	Maintain unique destionation. If you are adding multiple SAP ERP system, then maintain different destination for each external ERP system.
URL Information / UI URL Information (for SAP Fieldglass)	URL of the external system
API URL Information (for SAP Fieldglass)	URL of the associated API
User Name (for SAP Fieldglass)
License Key (for SAP Fieldglass)
Additional Information	As necessary
Primary System	Choose to set the selected system as primary system

Choose OK.

The external system with details gets populated in the External Systems list.
