Adding Business Partners and Business Objects to an Authorization Group

You perform this activity to provide authorization to the group of business partners with whom you wish to share your business objects. You also provide read/access privileges to the business objects that you add to the authorization group.

Prerequisites

  • You have created an authorization group.

  • Your user ID has the roles SHARING_DELETE, or SHARING_EDIT assigned.

  • You have ensured that the objects you want to share are in Published or In Revision states.
  • You have ensured that you own the object you want to share.

Procedure

  1. Open the Network Authorizations application.
  2. In the Network Authorizations window, open the relevant authorization group.
  3. Go to the BUSINESS PARTNERS tab and choose Add.
  4. Select those business partners you want to add to the group and choose Select.

    The business partners are added to the group.

  5. Go to the PRIMARY OBJECTS tab and choose Add.
  6. From the Add dropdown, choose the business object you want to share. As an example, we choose Models as the business object to share.
  7. From the Select Model window, choose the model you want to share and click Select.
  8. In the Share Models window, review all the objects that are ready to be shared.
    You can expand the nodes under Dependent Objects to review.
  9. Provide Read or Write privileges.
  10. Choose Grant to Share, if you want to provide the grant sharing rights of the object to the members of the group.
  11. Choose Share.
