Assigning WC Codes to Organizational StructureAssign the Workers’ Compensation (WC) codes you created in Defining Workers' Compensation Classification Codes to Organizational Units.
Note
The WC code assignment to Organizational Units or Positions can be carried out either in the PD infotypes or in the Customizing activities described below. The WC code assignment to Jobs, however, can only be carried out in the Customizing activities.
To do so, execute the Customizing activity for Personnel Administration
under . This activity consist of three subordinate activities:
Assign WC codes to Organizational Units
In this activity, make the WC code assignments at Organizational Unit level (view V_T5U26
).
Assign WC codes to Jobs
If required, make the WC code assignments at Job level in this activity (view V_T5U25
).
Assign WC codes to Positions
If required, make the WC code assignments to Positions in this activity (view V_T5U28_B
).
Note
If WC code assignments exist for an employee at multiple levels (for example, for their Organizational Unit and Job), the assignment at the lowest level takes priority.
For example, if a WC code is assigned to:
An employee’s Organizational Unit
The Job that describes the employee’s Position, and
The employee’s Position
The Workers' Compensation Report (RPWCOU0
) will use the WC code assigned to the employee’s Position when calculating the WC wage. If rates are assigned to Organizational Unit and Job for the same employee, the report will use the code assigned at the Job level, and so forth.
You want to assign Workers’ Compensation code 1234 (Driver) to Job number 4651 (Delivery Driver). The code is valid for the state of Texas. The assignment should be valid from 01/01/1998 to 12/31/1999.
To make this assignment, you would choose the third activity in this step, Assign WC codes to positions
. You would make the following entries in the table:
Job | Begin | End | Region | WCcode | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
4651 | 01/01/1998 | 12/31/1999 | TX | 1234 | Driver |
