Sending Test Message

Prerequisites

  • You must have configured a classical or integrated configuration scenario.
  • You need NWA_SUPERADMIN_NWA_SENDTESTMSG action for your user to access the Send Test Message UI. The action is assigned to the following user roles.
    • SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR_J2EE
    • SAP_XI_MONITOR_J2EE
    • SAP_XI_PCK_ADMIN
    • SAP_XI_DEVELOPER_J2EE
    • SAP_XI_CONFIGURATOR_J2EE
    • SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER_J2EE
    • NWA_SUPERADMIN

Context

You use this procedure to check the runtime components of the adapter engine.

Procedure

  1. Launch the URL http://<host>:<port>/nwa to access the PI monitoring page.
  2. Choose Start of the navigation pathSOA Next navigation step Monitoring Next navigation step Send Test MessageEnd of the navigation path
    You can view the Send Test Message: Overview screen.
  3. If you want to use a template for test message, perform the following substeps.
    1. Choose Open.
    2. In Open Template window, select the template and choose Open.
      The system fills header information and payload.
  4. If you want to enter values in fields based on sender agreement or integrated configurations (ICO), perform the following substeps:
    1. Choose .
      Choose the configuration to prefill header information window opens.
    2. Select the configuration of your choice.
      The system loads header information pertaining to the chosen configuration.
  5. If you want to provide header information manually, use F4 help to enter values in the fields based on the description given in the table.
    Field Description
    Sender Party The sender of the test message
    Sender Component Component to which the sender belongs to
    Receiver Party The receiver of the test message
    Receiver Component Component to which the receiver belongs to
    Interface Interface that you using to send the test message
    Interface Namespace Namespace of the chosen interface
  6. Select the Quality of Service from the dropdown list.

  7. If you want to manually enter the contents of the test message, specify it in the Payload field.
  8. If you want to upload the test message payload file, perform the following substeps:
    1. Select Upload File.
    2. In Character Format field, select the format of the payload file you want to upload.
    3. Choose Browse and navigate to the folder path where payload file is located.
    4. Select the payload file and choose Open.
    5. Choose Upload.
  9. Choose Send.

    The system displays the status of test message.

  10. To verify the status of test message using message monitor, perform the following substeps:
    1. Click the link in the Message ID field.
      The Message Monitor tool opens in a new window.
