These two terms are often used as synonyms for one another.

The interchangeability type, or category, is a two-character code with a descriptive text:

  • 01Interchangeability for Supersession

  • 02 Interchangeability for Inventory-Managed MPN

  • 03 Restricted Interchangeability

  • 98 Manually-defined interchangeability (subcontracting)

  • 99 Freely-defined interchangeability (BAdI)
