You can have multiple datasets open in a document at the same time and switch from one
dataset to another, which you would likely do when preparing a merge between two datasets or
when using multiple datasets in a visualization (dataset linking).
In the datasets list at the top of the Data pane, select the dataset to
switch to.
The dataset you selected is now the active dataset.
