New Features in Version 2022.8
New or changed features are available in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud version 2022.8.
Administration
-
New DW Consumer Role
The new DW Consumer role allows users to consume data from spaces of which they are members, but does not allow them to log onto SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.
This role is intended for business analysts and other users whose only point of contact with SAP Data Warehouse Cloud is using views that are exposed for consumption as sources in SAP Analytics Cloud and other analytics clients.
For more information, see Standard Roles Delivered with SAP Datasphere.
-
New Privilege Allowing Login
The privilege Data Warehouse General allows users to log onto SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and is included in all roles except for DW Consumer.
For more information, see Privileges and Permissions.
-
Monitor Data Integration Tasks With Views From the Content Network in New Dedicated Space
You can now monitor data integration tasks using pre-configured views provided as business content by SAP via the Content Network.
As a pre-requisite, you'll create the new dedicated monitoring space (with the space ID <SAP_ADMIN> and the space name <Administration (SAP)>) and then import the <Technical Content: Task Monitoring> package from the Content Network.
For more information, see Configure Monitoring and Working with SAP HANA Monitoring Views.
Data Integration
-
Monitor Memory Consumption While Persisting Views
Task logs for persisted views have been enhanced in the View Persistency Monitor as memory consumption while persisting views can be checked using monitoring views.
For more information, see Persisting and Monitoring Views.
-
Lock Your Partitions to Avoid Unnecessary Data Load
When you think the data will no longer change, or no change is expected for a while, you can check the option Locked when you define a partition, and avoid unnecessary data load while persisting a view.
For more information, see Creating Partitions for Your Persisted Views.
