New Features in Version 2023.5
New or changed features are available in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud version 2023.5.
Data Integration
-
SAP BW Bridge
Several new features are available for SAP BW bridge:-
InfoObject With Write Interface
You can now use InfoObjects with a write interface. Texts and attributes are supported by the familiar master data types. The data in these InfoObjects can be moved to the inbound table using a tool such as Data Services or via SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) by PUSH.
For more information, see InfoObject with Write Interface in the SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge documentation.

Anonymizing Data Using the Data Protection Workbench
If personal data has been locked or deleted in an application system, it can still be useful for reporting purposes to eliminate the personal data while not deleting the data records completely. You can now use anonymization rules to define how the individual fields are changed if you want a data record to be anonymized.
Anonymization rules are part of the InfoProvider’s metadata and can be edited in the BW Modeling tools in the standard InfoProvider editor. With SAP BW∕4HANA 2021 SPS04, you can define anonymization rules for DataStore objects. The anonymization rules can be created with a selected SQL syntax as formulas.
If you have defined anonymization rules, the Anonymization action is available in the Data Protection Workbench. As part of this action, the data records are changed in accordance with the anonymization rules.
For more information, see: -
Monitoring CPU and Memory Usage
As an administrator, you can now use four new key figures and a statistics record to find out how much usage there is in ABAP and the SAP HANA database when you execute a BW process.
For more information, see: -
Utilizing SAP Fiori Launchpad Spaces and Pages in the SAP BW Bridge Cockpit
You can now structure the SAP BW Bridge cockpit user interface into spaces and pages. We thus deliver suitable spaces and pages for the business role templates that are required for the cockpit. Administrators can either use these spaces and pages or create own ones and then assign them to custom roles.
For more information, see First Steps in the Cockpit in the SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge documentation.

Data Marketplace
-
Using the Command Line Interface for Data Marketplace for Data Provider and Data Product (Mass) Operations
With this release you can use the SAP Datasphere command line interface, dwc, to create, read, update, and modify data providers and data products. You can create new data providers and data products in mass operations, or update properties, such as pricing information, publishing status, or context assignments of data products. It is also possible to list all data providers or data products you have access to.
-
Data Products: New Live Access Delivery Mode
Use the Live Access mode to deliver data within the same tenant without replication. Indeed, the data view is shared live with the customer version of the tenant. In this way, the data is always up-to-date and doesn’t require any update.
For more information, see Creating Marketplace Data Products.
Data Modeling
-
Data Flow: New Features for Table Sources from OData Remote Connections.
-
Define OData parameters to control how the data is returned from the service with the OData Parameters section. You can define custom parameters or select suggested parameters in a dropdown list.
-
Browse entities related to the table source up to the second level when navigating properties by setting the depth of OData objects with the OData Properties section.
For more information, see Add a Source to a Data Flow.
-
-
Data Flow Monitor: Running Metrics
After running a data flow, source and target table metrics are displayed in the Data Flow Monitor for longer and can be used for further analysis.
For more information, see Creating a Data Flow.

Changed Behavior for Audit Log Deletion
Audit logs can consume a large quantity of GB of disk in your tenant. To avoid over-usage of your disk space, we’ve changed the audit log deletion behavior.
Behavior before this version: When doing the actions listed below, all related audit log entries were kept, even when the retention period specified for the audit logs had expired. An administrator could decide to delete the audit logs entries using the dedicated area .-
Deleting a space
-
Deleting a database user (open SQL schema)
-
Disabling an audit policy for a space
-
Disabling an audit policy for a database user (open SQL schema)
-
Unassigning an HDI container from a space
New behavior starting with this version:-
For spaces that have been deleted before this version: All related audit logs have been kept and an administrator can decide to delete them using the dedicated area .
-
For spaces that are deleted from this version onward: audit log entries are deleted once the number of retention days has been reached (given that the space or database user that generates the logs is not deleted). Also, when doing the actions listed above, all related audit log entries are now deleted, and you’re informed about this directly on the interface.
Before performing any of these actions, which will delete the audit log entries, you may want to export them.
For more information, see Logging Read and Change Actions for Audit.
