Currency Display Options

The main menu item Tools  Options  Currency Selection allows you to select the default currency you wish to use to display currency values in your grids. Three optional display styles are provided through the Currency Display item on the grid data context menu. These can be used in both grids and reports and apply to all types of data. They directly influence the format used to display values in your grid as follows:

• None – for currency values this does not give an indication of the currency, and displays the value using your operating system local format irrespective of the currency selection. All non-currency values are displayed with this formatting, regardless of the currency selection on the grid.
• Code - displays the currency code, and also displays using the local system settings.
• Symbol - uses the currency symbol, and displays using the format defined for that currency.

The Symbol option provides the only display format that can differ from your operating system local setting. As all data entry is interpreted using your operating system setting, the use of this display option can raise operational problems.
