Example of Journal Validation
After loading general ledger data into a model using Data Manager, the processor should be able to review the data and use journal entries to make adjustments if there is any correction or reclassification needed.
When journal entries are saved and posted, all adjustments to data can be tracked and reported on. For example, it is possible to run reports on the changes by amount, date, user, and several other properties to review and analyze.
Validations, on the other hand, are designed to prevent incorrect records from being saved to the DataStore Object (advanced). The user controls what is deemed an incorrect record. An example of an incorrect record is one where you have specified an intercompany account, but you have left the Trading Partner dimension empty.
