Creating an Inspection Lot Manually

Use

You can use this procedure to create inspection lots manually for all inspection lot origins except the following:

10Delivery to customer with sales order

11Delivery to customer without sales order

12 General delivery

●       13Repetitive manufacturing

14 Plant maintenance

17 – Externally triggered inspection

When you create an inspection lot manually, you cannot reference an original document (for example, a goods receipt document, an order, or a delivery note).

Procedure

Choose LogisticsQuality ManagementQuality Inspection Inspection LotProcessingCreate

Enter the material, plant, and inspection lot origin and confirm your entries.

For inspection lot origins 03 (inspection during production) and 04 (goods receipt from production), do not specify a material.

The initial screen for creating an inspection lot appears.

Enter the required data on the Origin tab.

Choose Enter (or save the inspection lot) to have the system assign an inspection specification to the inspection lot automatically.If the system cannot assign a specification automatically, proceed as follows:

Choose the Insp. Specifications tab.

Manually assign a specification to the inspection lot by choosing EditChoose Plan/Spec .

If the system does not determine the sample size automatically, you can trigger the sample determination manually or you can enter a sample size directly.

To manually start sample determination, proceed as follows:

Choose the Sample tab.

Choose Smpl. to manually trigger the automatic determination of the sample size.

Choose Documents if you want to assign documents to the inspection lot.

This tab is active only if you already activated the Document Link to Inspection Lot switch for the business process Quality Inspection in Customizing for Quality Management under Basic SettingsMaintain Settings at Client Level

For the assignment of documents, you must have defined at least one document type that allows the assignment of inspection lots (object QALS for object link) in Customizing for Document Management under Control DataDefine Document Types For the object link, the screen number 500 must be specified.

The documents can also be displayed in results recording.

The Documents tab is also integrated in the usage decision, via which you can assign documents.

If you edit inspection lots in Customizing, note that the assignment of documents is not a Customizing setting and does not have a Customizing transport link.

Save the inspection lot.
