Editing Product Attributes

Activating or deactivating the attribute for the product

  • A red traffic light means that the attribute is not available for contracts.

  • A green traffic light means that the attribute is available for contracts, and you can assign values to the field attributes.

  • To switch between red and green, click on the traffic light for an attribute.

  • If you set a higher-level traffic light to red, all lower-level attributes in the attribute hierarchy are also set to red.

  • If you set a lower-level traffic light to green, all higher-level attributes in the attribute hierarchy are also set to green.

  • You cannot set required attributes to red.

Activating or deactivating the changeability of an attribute in the contract

  • If the lock is open, the administrator can make changes in the contract to the default values derived from the product.

  • If the lock is closed, the administrator cannot make changes in the contract to the default values derived from the product.

  • To switch between open and closed, click on the lock for an attribute.

    This information is not transferred from the product to the contract for this release. The administrator can always make changes.

Determining the properties of an attribute

  1. Click on the description of an attribute.

    The dialog box for the attribute appears.

  2. Enter the values required depending on the attribute, for example the upper or lower limit values, or possible input help values for the corresponding field in the contract.

  3. Choose Continue .

The traffic light / lock combination determines the available options when creating a contract:

  • Open lock/green traffic light:

    You can define default values for this attribute in the detail screen.

  • Closed lock/green traffic light:

    You create fixed values.

    This information is not transferred from the product to the contract for this release. The administrator can always make changes.

  • Red traffic light:

    The field attribute is not available when you create contracts based on this product. You cannot make settings.

  • Required attribute:

    You must enter fixed values, otherwise you cannot activate the product.
