Creating Buttons, Events, and Plugs

Prerequisites

  • You have completed all steps described under Applying View Templates .

  • The graphical Data Modeler tool is started.

Context

With the ActionButton template you create a button for the WD view bound to an action. The wizard allows you to create or reuse the following application parts:

  • Action (create newly or reuse)

  • Event (create newly or reuse)

  • Method (reuse)

  • Plug (create newly or reuse)

Procedure

  1. Place the cursor on the WD view to which you would like to apply the template. Choose option Apply Template from the context menu.
  2. Choose the Action Button option and make the necessary wizard entries.

Results

For the generated button which you can see in the View Designer tool now (double-click the view in the Data Modeler's editor), you can define properties such as button text and button design. Or you can add a tooltip, for example. Click on the button, and the default properties are displayed in the Properties standard view for further editing steps.
